The Making of a Wix Act (COMM 315W)

I didn’t have to set up a Wix account because I had one from a previous class, COMM 302. However, I did find it a little challenging when it came to curating it. The reason being is because I felt like I had to reinvent my Wix page, which I think I accomplished successfully. I ended up adding a little more personality to it. Before hand It was plain and look like I didn’t put a whole lot of thought into it, but now it has a little “color”. I also reorganized the social links as well as the tabs to different pages.

When it comes to confidence with my online presence as a professional I feel pretty confident. I’m considered part of the millennial generations so I grew up with technology. If I don’t understand something when it comes to technology I usually set there until I figure it out, YouTube really helps with instructional videos on almost anything.

I believe that social media has a big impact on yourself professional and nonprofessional. Nowadays everybody is using social media to do everything. Companies screen possible employees through Facebook and other social media sites. Just remember that everything you post could have a consequence.

I don’t really have any questions when it comes to this stage of the ePortfolio project. I pretty much get the just of what we are suppose to do and how it’s suppose to help us in the future to get a career. But what if we already have a career? I don’t see how this will help people how already have a career and are getting a degree just to better themselves. Who knows this may come in handy in the future. The more knowledge the better.
